On April 20, 2026 KVK Anjaw organized a vibrant awareness campaign on the balanced use of fertilizers and adopting science-based nutrient programmes at Hoiliang under Hayuliang circle. A total of 15 farmers and farm women participated in the programme.
        The gathering was welcomed by Er. Ugarsain, SMS (Soil & Water Conservation Engineering), KVK, Anjaw. He emphasized the importance of applying the right nutrient, at the right time, in the right dose, and at the right place. He explained how improper fertilizer use not only increases the cost of cultivation but also degrades soil fertility over time.
        Mr Kh. Naveen, SMS (Agronomy) also explained about the integrated nutrient management of soil for various crops emphasizing on soil health and soil testing. His experience about the cultivation in the area and soil related various problems encountered in his activities.
        Dr. S. Peter Singh SMS (Agricultural Economics) appreciated the enthusiasm of the farmers and farm women for adopting kitchen gardening. He also motivated them to develop integrated farming models for sustainable agricultural development and enhanced livelihood opportunities.
